Barack Obama's presidential nominating speech will be coming from a Republican veteran of the Iraq war.

Michael Wilson of Florida, who was an Air Force medic in the war, is scheduled to formally nominate Obama Wednesday at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

That's cool....because she sure as hell won't support McCain (she's disappointed....not insane)....so no harm done.

I think McCain's only hope is Diebold.

And Ramsey's got a good point......both parties, and the big money/big business behind them RELY on that "wasted vote" B.S. to keep them in power....as long as voters believe that a third party/candidate vote is "wasted", they'll keep voting the two party system and limiting our choice, our power, and our voice to what they give us to choose from....which is pretty much the exact same thing, with alot of "us vs. them" bullshit thrown in for the faux "appearance" of difference.

The Rep/Dem created myth of the "wasted vote" is what keeps THEM and their owners in power, and takes what's supposed to be OUR power from us.

McCain's saving grace is that even though he WILL continue BushCo policies and agendas,.....he WON'T use BushCo's strategy of lies, deceit, manipulation and criminal acts to do it. And McCain won't deliberately split, divide and play American against American to do it. He'll likely sincerely try to work with Dem/Libs, rather than use blanket propaganda condemation of an entire party/political view with lies and smear (a huge disappointment to people like Hermie and FuzzBuster, who've embraced that low-road B.S.)

McCain may not be much better on what's being done, but he'd be a HUGE improvement on the WAY it's done.

Unfortunately, for the last 8 years, what's been done AND the way it's been done have both been bad for the nation, and a much more drastic change is needed.

Unless a dead hooker is found in Obama's hotel room, he will carry Cali. Maybe even then. It's not a wasted vote, it's a protest vote. Not voting because the main contenders offer no chance for true change is.

My choice for Barr is mostly based on V45's opinion that he is a joke. A vote for McCain or Obama is a vote for the same shit our leaders have been doing to us since LBJ took office.

Will my vote change if it looks like McCain can win Cali? Maybe.

If Bob Barr were the Republican candidate, I would vote for him. But, under the circumstances, why vote for him? He hasn't got a chance. It's a wasted vote.

McCain has the knowledge, experience, maturity and stability needed for the job. Centrists and moderate Democrats will likely realize it in time.
