Palin's associations are with witch doctors and wacky preachers who say terrorism is God's punishment to Jews who haven't seen the light and that if you voted for John Kerry you'd go to hell.
popatop, we have agreed there is bias in most media. it leans for you and for me. your argument is a cop-out.
you are judging obama on 2 past associations. but you do not hold bush in contempt for his families association with bin laden. nor mccain for his association with lobbyists tied to saddam. nor palin's associations to.. hmm.. well, she can see russia from her window. is that an association?? ;D
Not 99%, but if you don't see liberal bias you're not looking very hard.
a 99% Liberal-biased media? A vast left-wing liberal conspiracy of cover-ups and propaganda created for the sole purpose of discrediting the right?
You guys are too much!
"A few associations"? "95% negatively hyped and over-exaggerated smear created for the sole purpose of discrediting"? you guys are too much
popatop, you are afraid of facts. it is so clearly obvious now.
again, if all you have against obama are a few associations, you are a loser. you can't even post an honest fact, you little, angry man. anyway, game over. you lose
Keep regurgitating that cud and chew away Pop. As long as you former McCain supporters keep putting all your effort, support and enthusiasm behind the anti-Obama campaign, the less effort, support and enthusiasm you put behind McCain.
and Yes, I'd definitely think comments about McCain associating with a white supremeist preacher and abortion clinic bomber silly if the truth and fact turned out to be the "white supremeist" and "abortion clinic bomber" was 95% negatively hyped and over-exaggerated smear created for the sole purpose of discrediting McCain.
How are you the authority on Obama? I wonder if you'd think comments about McCain Associating with a white supremacist preacher for 20 yrs and launching his political career with an abortion clinic bomber is "Silly" If you're talking about the election, it ain't over till it's over, it you mean this discussion, you ain't the authority on that either, I always have a lovely day.
popatop, even the elder spokesman on snaps, rj, admits that no one can be sure what obama meant when he combined "lipstick" and "pig". so when did you become the authority on what obama is thinking and doing?
i am just really amused that this silly comment and an association with ayers and wright are all you have on obama. isn't your life already pathetic enough, for heaven's sake?? time to go get a life, pop. game over. you lose. have a lovely day. :)
No, I don't even recall the "shrill" business with Hillary, most likely because I seldom listen to pundits trying to tell me their take on what I already heard. I assume that someone said the "Hillary's voice was shrill" or something to that extent? If her voice was shrill, they called it correctly. I think the issue with the lipstick is whether the remark was aimed at Palin. If not, well, McCain himself has used that term, and it is a well documented saying in common usage (at least up until now).
Also, comparing someone to a pig is only insulting if they are a higher life form.
"pick and eat from the nose of banality"? that's kinda disgusting, don't ya think? You must have missed where I never said Obama was sexist, I said he tried a joke and it fell apart, I know, any hint that he might not be perfect is terrible, but what can I say?
But, the whole "shrill" thing inevitably brings us back to your root hypocrisy....
Now, you're condemning Obama as bad for the sexist shrill comment he made during the primaries.....
and pretending that much, MUCH worse, blatant and degrading sexist remarks weren't said by the Rep/Cons.....and NOT condemning them as bad for doing THE EXACT SAME THING you're judging Obama for now.
Oh, and don't be so quick to label "shrill" as sexist.....McCain is all man, but he's sounding pretty shrill and desperate these days himself.....
as are you and most the Rep/Cons.
but, put simply, like most everything you and the Rep/Cons rabidly pick and eat from the nose of banality,...the entire "Lipstick on a pig" scandal is just another desperate, scared attempt to try and make a non-issue molehill into a mountain of crap.
And you (and your candidate) look more pathetic each time you try....and fail
Congrats WOT you get it. It was because of Palin's pitbull in lipstick comment, that's why his audience laughed so hard, cuz on it's own, it ain't that funny. "The ONLY people connecting the "Pig in Lipstick" comment to Palin is the Rep/Cons" well DUH, the only people who find fault with anything the golden child says are rep/cons, we call that a "no shitter" I wonder Oosik if you thought it was "sexist" and insulting when people criticized Hillary s sounding "shrill"? SInce if "shrill" is an insult, isn't pig?
I find this whole thing insulting to pigs if he was referring to Palin. I've known pigs. I know Palin. I'll take the pigs any day.
oh... see I thought of it because of her pitbull in lipstick comment...
The ONLY people connecting the "Pig in Lipstick" comment to Palin is the Rep/Cons
Listen to the entire statement, in context, it's nowhere even NEAR a reference, hint, or jibe at or about Palin in any way, shape or form.
what I DO find interesting is how the very first immediate thought that came to the Rep/Con's minds when "pig in lipstick" was uttered, was Palin! LOL
This whole concocted insult to Palin that never existed is more a case of the Neo/Cons calling Palin a Pig in lipstick far more than they could ever accuse Obama of.
Now, thanks SOLEY to the Reps trying to make a smear against Obama for an insult he never made,....Now and for years to come, every time anyone hears that phrase about "Putting lipstick on a Pig", they're going to think of Palin.
Just another sad footnote in a "Whatever happened to" topic Palin will become after McCain's defeat at the hands of his own supporter's ignorance, hatred, fear and baseless smears.
Gee, such a long excuse to cover up a bad joke, at the very least you have to admit O's timing stinks. vis, you're right about Perot, however, McCain has been calling Obama "the one" for a while, a tilt to his "Messiah" status, but let Obama call Palin a "pig in lipstick" and we get long excuses, and heated denials. I await the cries of "racism"
I think it was quickly connected to Palin... but the fact remains that "a pig in lipstick" is a common phrase-- from wikipedia---"Pigs have long featured in proverbial expressions: a "pig's ear", a "pig in a poke", as well as the Biblical expression "pearls before swine". Indeed, whereas the phrase "lipstick on a pig" seems to have been coined in the 20th century, the concept of the phrase may not be particularly recent. The similar expression, "You can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear" seems to have been in use by the middle of the 16th century or earlier. Thomas Fuller, the British physician, noted the use of the phrase "A hog in armour is still but a hog" in 1732, here, as the Classical Dictionary of the Vulgar Tongue (1796) later noted "hog in armour" alludes to "an awkward or mean looking man or woman, finely dressed." The Baptist preacher Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892) recorded the variation "A hog in a silk waistcoat is still a hog" in his book of proverbs The Salt-Cellars (published 1887).[2]
The lipstick variety is more modern, the word lipstick itself only coined in 1880.[2] The rhetorical effect of linking pigs with lipstick was explored in 1926 by Charles F. Lummis, in the Los Angeles Times, when he wrote "Most of us know as much of history as a pig does of lipsticks".[2] However, the first recorded uses of "putting lipstick on a pig" are later. In an article in the Quad-City Herald (Brewster, Washington) from Jan. 31 1980, it was observed that "You can clean up a pig, put a ribbon on it's [sic] tail, spray it with perfume, but it is still a pig."[3] The phrase was also reported in 1985 when The Washington Post quoted a San Francisco radio host from KNBR-AM remarking "That would be like putting lipstick on a pig" in reference to plans to refurbish Candlestick Park (rather than constructing a new stadium for the San Francisco Giants)."
Isn't that what muslims do!? Keep the women out of everything?!?
you seem to be in heavy denial, rj. it pains me to see it.
when ross perot said "you people", that was the end of ross perot.
mccain says "that one", and some republicans continue to stand by him. that fact is bothersome..
During the primaries, MCCain used that EXACT SAME "Lipstick on a pig" reference....
"Whether or not it was intended as a reference to Hillary, none of us can say."
"RJ, are you saying that it Is not possible that McCain had thought up, or was given that phrase to slip into his remarks, intended as a clever and cute reference to Hillary?"
"Because of the audience's reaction, It is pretty safe to say that they instantly connected it to Hillary."
Why is it you condemn Obama for saying it, but excuse McCain, and ignore the FACT he said THE EXACT SAME THING?
The answer is easy and obvious.....you're a hypocrite!
McCain made a blatant racial slur about Obama during the last debate when he referred to him as "This one"....not a person, but an object.
(Note: in the following narrative, the names have been changed to expose the guilty and their hypocricy)

Now, of course McCain wasn't making a racial slur when he said that, but see how easy it is (and was for you) to take a statement completely out of context, then concoct and fabricate a personal "diss" and "insinuation" where it didn't actually exist.....which is EXACTLY what you and others here have done with Obama's "Lipstick pig" statement!
And even more of the right-wing's baldfaced hypocricy....Now they're SCREAMING about a Newsweek cover where they say the "liberal media" deliberately DARED to show wrinkles on the face of the Rep's precious show-pony Palin.
Funny how they call that a dispicable "attack" on Palin now, but cheered, joyfully jeered and literally celebrated in cruel delight when that pic of Hillary, haggered from the primary campaign, hit the magazine covers (you know, the one Hermieone said "Ended her campaign right then and there....MONTHS before she went on to not only nearly win the nomination, but continues to exert the power and influence of her popularity in this election! LMAO!! Another "bulls-eye" for Hermie!)
The Rep/cons hypocrite campaign of smear and hate is not just deplorable, it's getting downright desperate, ridiculous and pathetic.....
and, Thank God, it's going to LOSE them the election.
Remind me to personally thank all you Rep/Con hate-mongers when Obama wins in November!
;)

Sarah Plain likened women to Pit Bulls in lipstick - and there was no misunderstanding about it when she said it.
OZ - I don't concoct or fabricate things. On the other hand, your comments are fine examples of ultraunidimentionalism.
In other words "PLEEEAAASSEE believe SOMETHING we desperately concoct , fabricate, take out of context, scare you, or just outright lie about Obama, ...PLEEEAAASSSEEE he's kicking our ass and we're about to lose all we've gained from all the smear, hate, fear, manipulation and lies we've invested over the last 8 years!!"
Sorry, too late
Dookie said "We all know what obama said" - That's true.
WoT said "we all know exactly what he meant" - That's not true.
Whether or not it was intended as a reference to Palin, none of us can say.
Dookie & WoT, are you saying that it Is not possible that Obama had thought up, or was given that phrase to slip into his remarks, intended as a cute and clever reference to Palin?

Stupid Post ditto on what dookie said, we all know exactly what he meant.
didn't we already cover this topic a few weeks ago???
are you really this fearful, angry and hateful, poster? time to get a life or get lost. please, stay home on election day. we'll do this without you

Obamas associations are with wacky preachers who say aids was invented by whites to kill blacks, and terrorist attacks are "chickens coming home to roost.
Vis, did you miss the news? Bush isn't running, but, his families association with bin laden is old news, asked and answered, we were once helping his fight with Russia, same with McCain and saddam. In the real world sometimes you aid folks then they turn around and bite you in the ass, Japan was our ally in WW2.
